University of Galway Management Team in Údarás na Gaeltachta’s head office

Údarás na Gaeltachta were delighted to welcome the Management Team of the University of Galway to Údarás na Gaeltachta’s head office in Na Forbacha this week; the University’s Management Team meet annually in a Gaeltacht location, as part of the University’s Irish Language Strategy 2021-2025.

Speaking after the meeting, Údarás na Gaeltachta CEO, Tomás Ó Síocháin said: ”Today’s meeting was an opportunity to study how these two organisations can build on our continuing co-operation in new ways , for the benefit of the Gaeltacht community, the Irish language and the University.”

The President of the University of Galway, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh stated:

“University of Galway is committed to promoting and strengthening our links with An Ghaeltacht.  The Irish language is a value and valuable for us all and we are fully supportive of our staff, students and community in living their working lives through Irish.  We are here for the public good and to sustain the communities which we serve.  We look forward to continuing to work closely with Údarás na Gaeltachta to do that.“
