Údarás na Gaeltachta is pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new enterprise centre at Baile na nGall Beag, Rinn Ó gCuanach in the Waterford Gaeltacht. The centre will serve as a focal point for enterprise, culture and tourism in the area, with an employment target of up to 50 full time jobs.
This 1,500-metre squared development will provide facilities to meet the needs of various enterprises in the area including Nemeton TV and Na Bróga Dearga (Red Shoe Productions). As well as office spaces for Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise, there will be a gteic and caife, creating a cultural community hub in An Rinn.
Enterprise is pivotal to the future of An Ghaeilge and An Ghaeltacht. This new centre will bring people together to encourage growth and expansion of the enterprise and culture which already exist in Gaeltacht na nDéise, with a new space that will cater to the needs of the local companies and community alike. Such an investment shows Údarás na Gaeltachta’s commitment to providing support and resources to Gaeltacht communities across the country.
The CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta, Tomás Ó Síocháin, said: “We welcome today’s announcement. Gaeltacht na Rinne is an exemplar, from an employment perspective, of an area where the daily use of Irish is growing.”
“There will be an opportunity to combine the pioneering work being carried out there, work which is at the forefront of innovation both nationally and internationally, with top-class facilities in which Irish is the working language. This will attract further sustainable employment to the Waterford Gaeltacht. We are truly grateful to the community of An Rinn for their continued support of this project.”

“This project has a long history, with Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise CTR and the local community, who have worked extremely hard over the years to move this project forward” he said.

Údarás na Gaeltachta will continue working closely with Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise and the local community as the project moves forward to the next stage.
