Údarás na Gaeltachta is seeking to recognise and empower a new generation of Gaeltacht entrepreneurs as part of an open call to support them in bringing their business ideas to fruition. Údarás na Gaeltachta wishes to empower and assist new Gaeltacht entrepreneurs in examining their business ideas and develop them further by exploring the appropriate business model. These new entrepreneurs will be supported initially through a workshop being organised by Údarás na Gaeltachta.
As part of the call people are being asked to register for the Business Canvas Model Workshop which will be held online by Údarás na Gaeltacht from 2 – 4pm on March 30th. The open call forms part of Enterprise Month with events taking place throughout the Gaeltacht and the country to assist entrepreneurs. The workshop hopes to attract emerging entrepreneurs from the Gaeltacht with a particular welcome for entrepreneurs under 35 years of age and female entrepreneurs.
This will inspire entrepreneurs to bring their business idea or concept to the next level and engaging, where appropriate, with entrepreneurial development support ecosystem in the Gaeltacht. Events such as MIT’s Innovators Under 35 Europe Festival, one of the world’s most distinguished events honouring young technology pioneers, is taking place in Ireland, in Gaoth Dobhair Co. Donegal in May. The workshop will link with local gteic units throughout the Gaeltacht to inspire people to advance their business ideas.
“This open call will give people a wonderful opportunity to acquire more information in relation to developing a business idea or concept and progressing such further. Entrepreneurship is a huge part of life in the Gaeltacht, where small, medium and large enterprise support extensive communities in those areas” said Mícheál Ó hEanaigh CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta. “New Opportunities and events are coming to the fore for entrepreneurs, with the Gaeltacht and Ireland at the heart of those activities at present and in the future.”
