Údarás na Gaeltachta will be partnering again this year with CREW (Creative Enterprise West), in offering a post-graduate certificate in Creative Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (CEED), an incubation programme developed by CREW in partnership with ATU Galway City. Guaranteed to accelerate the start-up process, participation in this free   accredited programme is targeted at early-stage   creative   digital (CreaTech) entrepreneurs in a wide range of disciplines (TV and Film Production, Virtual Production, Animation, Digital Content Immersive Technologies, Digital Design, Creative Technologies and much more).

There was a significant level of Gaeltacht participation on the pilot programme. CREW and Údarás na Gaeltachta hope this incubation programme will be equally well-represented by Gaeltacht candidates, as it offers a valuable opportunity for creative entrepreneurs to join a   community in the creative digital industries sector across all disciplines and bring their idea to the next level.

This is a free, part- time, 15-week course, delivered both online and in-person at ATU’s Cluain Mhuire Campus from January-March 2023.  A workspace will also be made available to Gaeltacht participants in their local Gteic as part of Údarás na Gaeltachta’s facilitation of the course delivery. Creative industry experts from the Gaeltacht agus beyond will share their experience and expertise, and individual mentoring will be offered to all participants.

Niamh Costello, CREW chief executive commented

“The programme draws in the unique creative traditions of the region and will provide early-stage companies in the creative digital and technology sector with the skills and insights necessary to develop their ideas.  The Western region has a long tradition in creativity and this incubation programme to support creative entrepreneurs in the region will build on this tradition and accelerate the success of this sector.”

Miriam Ní Néill, Údarás na Gaeltachta executive and CREW board member said

”This incubation programme gives creative entrepreneurs an opportunity to further explore their business concept and learn from fellow participants and experts in the field of creativity and entrepreneurship, a fantastic opportunity not to be missed!”
