Eirecomposites, company in Galway Gaeltacht receives significant funding
from national innovation fund
Údarás na Gaeltachta has welcomed the announcement by the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment that Eirecomposites, a company located in Coill Rua, Indreabhán, in the Connemara Gaeltacht has been awarded funding of €2.5million as part of a joint aerospace technology venture to develop new innovative processes and materials.
Eirecomposites has partnered with another company, Plasmabound, and with the Dublin Technological University for the Ad Astra project, which has received funding through the DTIF (DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES INNOVATION FUND) led by the Government of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland. This funding will support the research and manufacture of composite materials for the aerospace industry.
Eirecomposites wll also be involved in a further project, Freeform-OPTIX, which has received funding of €4.4 million for the development of mirrors for high-technology industries, in collaboration with three partners, the company Mbryonics, The Irish Manufacturing Research centre and the University of Galway.
