Public Consultation on the development of Coláiste Íosagáin in Baile Bhuirne
Údarás na Gaeltachta is seeking the opinions of the community in relation to the development of Coláiste Íosagáin in Baile Bhuirne in County Cork. Coláiste Íosagáin has a well-established place in the history of Baile Bhuirne and many in the Múscraí Gaeltacht community remember its role in the community with fondness. Significant funding was approved last year to prepare a masterplan for the redevelopment of this historic campus for the benefit of the region particularly as an Training/Education Facility, cultural tourism facility, business development facility and as a digital and innovation hub.
Last year, €180,000 was approved for Údarás na Gaeltachta under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund to develop a masterplan for the Coláiste Íosagáin campus
Last year, €180,000 was approved for Údarás na Gaeltachta under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund to develop a masterplan for the Coláiste Íosagáin campus in Baile Bhuirne, Co. Cork outlining the economic, planning and environmental case for the building and surrounding grounds. In addition, €2.7m was approved under the Regional Enterprise Development Fund to enable a Regional Development Hub to be established. The purpose of this Regional Development Hub will be to create additional employment opportunities and diversify and strengthen the enterprise base locally.

A team led by Community Engagement Partners was appointed by Údarás na Gaeltachta to prepare the social and economic parts of the masterplan. The team has been consulting with all the principal partners over the last number of months and now wishes to gather the ideas and views of the community of the area.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, it is necessary to seek these views online rather than through public meetings or other events. By completing this questionnaire, people can contribute in no small way to the future use of the Coláiste Íosagáin.
