Meeting of the Connaught Leinster Regional Committee

A meeting of the Connaught/ Leinster Regional Committee took place in the Claregalway hotel yesterday, 10 March 2009.

The Regional Committee met with a delegation from the Castlegar Community Group and plans to pass on traditional folklore through generations on DVD, were discussed.

Assistance was approved for over twenty projects including the following:
■Lasta Mara Teo who have storage and office space in Ros an Mhíl and will provide cargo transport service to Aran soon. 11 people will be employed full time with the company in Ros a Mhil;
■The establishment of a cheese making business planned for Inis Mór. The principals are undertaking a feasibility study to support the project;
■Boat tours operated by Dúlra Iorrais Teo in Elly Bay taking in local nature spots.
■Timber product manufacturing business to be established in Acaill creating 4 full-time jobs.
