Seven new jobs to be created in new Cork Gaeltacht drinks company
At the recent Údarás na Gaeltachta board meeting, held at the organisation’s Head Office on Friday, the board approved support for Kombeara Teo., a new company which intends to locate their manufacturing facility at the Béal Atha an Ghaorthaidh Business Park in the Cork Gaeltacht.
The new business will occupy two units on the Business Park, producing hard Kombucha, a Kombucha drink containing alcohol. They expect to employ up to seven employees in the company when they have commenced production.
Southern regional manager for Údarás na Gaeltachta, Dónal Ó Liatháin, said:
“This is a very positive story for Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh; we are delighted that Kombeara Teo has decided to do locate in a Gaeltacht area. The global market for hard Kombucha is valued at over €40 million and the company will be strongly focused on the export market. I would like to thank the local development committee for their work in promoting the development of Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh, in partnership with Údaras na Gaeltachta.”
