Gaeltacht Audiovisual Company receives development financing from EU

Údarás na Gaeltachta congratulates Magamedia on receipt of funding for the development of new film and television projects. Magamedia which is based in Na Forbacha, Co. Galway, is one of three Irish companies who recently received development funding from the European Commission’s MEDIA programme.

A sum of €45,000 was granted to the company for the feature film ‘Olagón’, which is currently being developed by writer, Darach Mac an Iomaire and producer, Paddy Hayes, who also produced the TG4 television series, ‘Corp + Anam’.

The European Commission’s MEDIA programme 2007-2013 is a European support programme for the audiovisual industry. Since its inception in 2007, MEDIA has granted €362,731 to the Gaeltacht audiovisual companies: Telegael (An Spidéal), Nemeton (An Rinn), Léirithe le Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín, (An Spidéal), Soilsiú Teo. (Gort a’ Choirce) and Magamedia, (Na Forbacha).
