The Connacht Laighean Regional Committee held a meeting in Údarás na Gaeltachta’s head-office in Na Forbacha, on the 19th December 2006.
At the meeting, grant assistance of €739,231 in total was approved for 10 various projects which aim to create 48 full-time jobs.
These included:
- Greaney Glass Products, An Carn Mór, Galway which is developing a glass-manufacturing business, creating 23 additional jobs (60 in total).
- F.C.T.T (Déantúsaíocht Teo.), a new company which produces ready-made goods for mechanical services contractors at An Cheathrú Rua, and will create 13 jobs in the third year.
- Deirdre Kavanagh and Siobhán Heaphy who are establishing a new restaurant facility in Tuar Mhic Éadaigh.
- Atlantek Computers Ltd. who will provide a broadband service via a radio system in Iorras and in parts of the Acaill Gaeltacht.
The next meeting will be held in Béal a’Mhuirthead on the 30th January 2007.
