Údarás na Gaeltachta and ATU celebrate Gaeltacht Women in Business
On Friday 31st March, Údarás na Gaeltachta & Atlantic Technological University (ATU) will host a celebration of Gaeltacht women in Business at the Connemara Coast Hotel in Furbo. Earlier that morning at a private event, 13 women who were selected onto the Cumasú programme (12 week start up programme run by ATU iHubs EMPOWER team) will pitch their start up ideas to a panel of judges.
At 12.45pm there will be an event to celebrate all female entrepreneurs who have started businesses or are based or working in the Gaeltacht and a general event celebrating female entrepreneurship. Evelyn O Toole, a native of Clifden and Founder and CEO of CLS and EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 will be there to chat to Noreen D’Arcy about growing a business in the Gaeltacht area and the support she has received to-date. Siobhán Ní Chofaigh CEO and Founder of Mint-Tek, a prototype creator that services some of the largest multinationals and most creative innovators in Ireland, will be talking to Noreen about her own journey and the opportunities and challenges that have come her way.
Minister for State at the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Dara Calleary, T.D. will be among the distinguished guests on the day, marking the successful conclusion of the first Gaeltacht enterprise programme with a specific focus on women entrepreneurs.
