Ceantar na nOileán’s Works of Art

November saw the launch of a new collection of writing titled ‘I mBun Pinn’. This work showcases the results of a series of workshops directed by Ciarán Ó Fátharta and Áine Durkin. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the workshops were held online through Zoom and the launch marks a huge achievement for all the writers.

This project was organised by Glór na nOileán, the Language Planning Office of Ceantar na nOileán, with support from Ealaín na Gaeltachta’s Arts Development Scheme. Due to the workshops being held on Zoom, writers from various Gaeltacht areas were able to take part and the collection includes work from Conamara, Mayo, Ráth Chairn and Cork. The collection features rich, fluent Irish and showcases the authors’ various dialects.
