Na Déise

This is one of the smallest Gaeltacht Language Planning Areas (LPT) in the country, and is located in the south-east of the country, in a seaside location with excellent views. Most people settle in either Rinn or in Sean Phobal. This is the only area in the south-east that the Irish language survived and there is a different dialect to every other LPT.

The 2016 Census figures show that 1,816 people live in this LPT and 26.9% of the population over 3 years of age spoke Irish on a daily basis.
