The Corca Dhuibhne peninsula is a beautiful area with a reputation for the cultural and literary wealth of the area. Daingean Uí Chúis is the main economic and business town in the area and is to be recognised as a Gaeltacht Service Town for the surrounding area. It is a busy tourist area with an active multicultural community.

The 2016 Census figures show that there are 6,948 people living in this LPT and 28.7% of the population over 3 years of age speak Irish on a daily basis.
