Údarás na Gaeltachta has celebrated a significant achievement in Ireland’s remote working infrastructure, as Minister Calleary announced that 400 hubs are now registered with ConnectedHubs.ie. The milestone was revealed at the National Hubs Meeting in Ballinasloe.
At the heart of this success is gteic, Údarás na Gaeltachta’s network of 29 Irish-language innovation and digital hubs. These facilities are ensuring that Gaeltacht communities can access high-quality remote working opportunities on par with urban centers.
Through strategic partnerships with government departments and technology companies, gteic has delivered innovative solutions that enable remote working through Irish, a vital component in the social and economic regeneration of these regions.
Tomás Ó Síocháin, Údarás na Gaeltachta CEO, emphasised the organisation’s leadership role:
“Údarás na Gaeltachta is pioneering remote working in rural communities. Our network of 29 Irish-language innovation and digital hubs ensures that Gaeltacht communities face no barriers in accessing the best remote working opportunities available.”
Speaking at the summit, Minister Calleary said:
“As Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, it is important to me that those who chose to live in rural Ireland are given the chance to avail of the increased remote working opportunities that have emerged in recent years.’
gteic continues to strengthen the hub network through ongoing training programs and employer partnerships designed to expand Irish-language remote working opportunities
