Údarás na Gaeltachta to Support the National Artificial Intelligence Meet in Galway
Údarás na Gaeltachta is supporting the third edition of the national AI Meet which takes place in Galway on the 18th of September, 2025.
Minister of State Niamh Smyth TD in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with special responsibility for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, will officially launch the event.
Tomás Ó Síocháin, CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta, said: “This gathering of industry leaders in Galway underscores the region’s growing reputation as a centre for technological excellence, and we look forward to seeing how AI can drive sustainable economic development in our communities while supporting the Irish language.”
More than 300 businesses have been specially invited to attend the event, showcasing the widespread impact of artificial intelligence on different industries.
This year’s programme features top executives from national and international organisations, as well as many Irish start-ups. A panel of experts will cover a variety of topics, giving insight to the ways in which AI can help Gaeltacht businesses.
Údarás na Gaeltachta is committed to supporting Gaeltacht businesses to make the most of the opportunities presented by Artificial Intelligence. This is in line with Údarás na Gaeltachta’s aim of encouraging sustainable economic growth in the Gaeltacht and supporting the preservation and promotion of the Irish language.
The Meet has been organised by TechIreland in partnership with Údarás na Gaeltachta, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, InterTradeIreland, Data2Sustain European Digital Innovation Hubs, and digital leaders in AI such as Google and OpenAI.
