Údarás na Gaeltachta is pleased to announce its participation in Mayo Ideas Month 2024, a series of business and entrepreneurship events taking place throughout October. As part of this initiative, Údarás na Gaeltachta, in collaboration with South West Mayo Development Company (SWMDC), will host a workshop entitled “Building Sustainable Tourism Business”.

The aim of this workshop is to support local businesses and entrepreneurs looking to develop their tourism business in a sustainable manner. This event will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the latest best practices in sustainable tourism, network with other industry professionals, and develop strategies to grow and nurture their businesses.
Seán Ó Coisdealbha, Bainisteoir Réigiún an Iarthair le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta (Head of Regional Development (West) at Udaras na Gaeltachta, said:

Mayo Ideas Month runs throughout October, featuring a series of events focused on idea generation, entrepreneurship, and business support. Other events include a ‘Decades of Success’ seminar with Bryan Dobson, a ‘Digital West 2024’ event focusing on AI, and the ‘Meet Mayo’ networking event.
All tourism businesses and entrepreneurs based in the Mayo Gaeltacht are encouraged to attend this workshop. The event is free of charge, but booking is essential due to limited space.
