Údarás na Gaeltachta announces the launch of its 2025 Tourism Development Scheme, following the successful completion of its 2018-2024 pilot program. The new scheme will provide funding of up to €40,000 annually for qualifying Gaeltacht tourism initiatives.

The scheme targets three strategic areas:

  • Enhancement of existing tourism facilities
  • Development of new tourism ventures
  • Community-led tourism initiatives

Support packages will extend up to three years, with duration varying based on project classification.

The program features a comprehensive professional development component, offering tourism officers access to regular monthly networking sessions, one-on-one mentoring, and continuous professional development training.

Two mandatory online information sessions have been scheduled:

  • Wednesday, January 16th, 2025
  • Tuesday, January 22nd, 2025

Registration is required by emailing meadbh.seoighe@udaras.ie with “tourism scheme” in the subject line.

Commenting on the launch, Tourism Manager Meadbh Seoighe stated:

“This enhanced scheme reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism development across the Gaeltacht regions. The pilot program’s success, which engaged 18 businesses, has laid a strong foundation for this next phase.”

Application Details:

*This scheme is open to community-based organisations and non-profit organisations only. Private companies are not eligible for this scheme.
