Údarás na Gaeltachta is pleased to announce their involvement in several important projects in the Gaeltacht that are being recognised by the Glór na nGael National Competition. This demonstrates Údarás na Gaeltachta’s ongoing commitment to the development and preservation of the Irish language and Gaeltacht culture. Here is a list of the projects participating in the competition that Údarás na Gaeltachta is involved with:
A prize fund of €70,000 will be awarded to the competition winners at an event in Croke Park on Saturday, September 14. The President of the Gaelic Athletic Association, Jarlath Burns, will be present to award the prizes.
Údarás na Gaeltachta is particularly proud to sponsor the Gaeltacht Section of the competition, with prizes of €3,000 for first place and €2,000 for second place.
Speaking about the competition, Rónán Mac Con Iomaire, Director of Regional Development and Language Planning at Údarás na Gaeltachta, said:
“It is a great honor for us to be involved in the Glór na nGael National Competition. Údarás na Gaeltachta works closely with community development organizations in strengthening the Gaeltacht, and these projects demonstrate the enthusiasm of these organizations in nurturing their communities and the Irish language within them. We are very proud of what they are achieving.”
