Údarás na Gaeltachta congratulates Folláin on winning Rogha na Gaeltachta at Blas na hÉireann 2025

Údarás na Gaeltachta has warmly congratulated Folláin on winning the prestigious Rogha na Gaeltachta (Gaeltacht Choice) award at Blas na hÉireann, The Irish Food Awards 2025, announced in Daingean Uí Chúis  on Friday 3rd October.

The Rogha na Gaeltachta award recognises outstanding food producers rooted in Gaeltacht communities who carry the spirit of the Irish language, heritage, and culture in their products.

Presenting the award on behalf of Údarás na Gaeltachta, Donal praised Folláin’s achievement: “The Rogha na Gaeltachta award is extremely important to us. It reflects the craft and quality of producers rooted in the Gaeltacht who carry the spirit of our language, our heritage, and our place in their products.”

He continued: “They have demonstrated true innovation over many years, while remaining firmly rooted in their community and traditions – a remarkable achievement, and long may they continue.”

Údarás na Gaeltachta also acknowledged the work of the Blas na hÉireann team, thanking Chairperson Artie Clifford and the entire organising team for their dedication in providing recognition and an exceptional platform for Irish food producers.

Speaking about Údarás na Gaeltachta’s support for Gaeltacht food businesses, Donal added: “I would also like to acknowledge my colleagues in Údarás na Gaeltachta who work daily with these businesses, supporting their ambitions and growth at every stage of the journey. Their dedication is central to keeping our Gaeltacht communities alive and vibrant.”

Blas na hÉireann 2025 marked another record year for the awards, with over 3,000 entries across more than 180 categories, celebrating the very best of Irish food and drink from across the island.
