Údarás na Gaeltachta board meeting in Béal an Mhuirthead – July 2012

At an Údarás na Gaeltachta Board meeting in Béal an Mhuirthead, Co. Mayo today (20 July), the Gaeltacht Bill passed by the Oireachtas this week, was discussed. Members were informed that Údarás executives will commence collaborating with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to initiate the language planning process in the Gaeltacht as proposed by the Gaeltacht Bill.

The availability of relevant funding to Údarás for its enterprise development functions for the future preservation and maintenance of the Gaeltacht community was highlighted by the Board. Also highlighted during the meeting was the importance of necessary staff resources and funding being available to Údarás for language planning, community and enterprise development in the Gaeltacht.
