At a meeting held by the Board of Údarás na Gaeltachta in Óstán Ghúgán Barra, Gúgán Barra, County Cork on Friday, 30 June 2006:
- It was agreed to commission a report to gather the latest information on the state of broadband infrastructure in the Gaeltacht. Progress on the provision of broadband to date will be examined, demand in the Gaeltacht and new technological developments will be assessed as well as infrastructural and funding requirements to enable the provision of broadband throughout the Gaeltacht.
- Resulting from recent discussions on the Irish language in the planning system and attempts to find a solution which would benefit and safeguard the language, it was decided that an tÚdarás would hold a Language Planning Conference.
