Today the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Éamon Ó Cuív, T.D. turned the first sod on the site of Ionad Seirbhísí na nOileán Teo. in Tír an Fhia. Also present at the event were Pádraig Ó hAoláin, Chief Executive of Údarás na Gaeltachta, Seán Ó Coistealbha, Manager of Muintearas and Pádraig Ó Biadh, Manager of Comhairle Ceantar na nOileán.
Údarás na Gaeltachta is investing over €2 million in this new building. As part of the development, office space of the highest standard will be available to Muintearas and other community development groups operating in the area.
According to Údarás na Gaeltachta, Ionad Seirbhísí na nOileán Teo. will add greatly to the area’s facilities and will be very important support for the community’s development requirements.
