‘Lón sa Spéir’, a documentary produced by Sónta Teo, will be released nationally in cinemas from the 1st February in both Irish and English. Sónta Teo, based in Cill Chiaráin, is a Údarás na Gaeltachta client company.
The documentary is based on the famous image, Lunch Atop a Skyscraper, taken in 1932 depicting eleven steel workers, two of which are believed to be from Sean Eaglais, Co. Galway, perched on a girder 850ft above Manhattan during construction of the Rockefeller Centre.
The IFTA nominated documentary premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2012 and was screened at various film festivals in America and Canada.
Údarás na Gaeltachta contributed to the production of the Irish language digital print to cinema’s which will be screened at Irish Film Institute, Dublin on 1st February at 6:30pm and 5th February at 6:20pm.
