New jobs for Fintown as a new Production and Assembly Facility Opens

In a move to expand it’s operations, Charles Bonner & Sons, Ballybofey, today opened a new production and assembly facility on the Údarás na Gaeltachta Estate in Fintown, Co. Donegal.

A supplier of oil and solid fuel and cooker stoves, the company has established a new base in Fintown where it will undertake production and assembly of its products. The new expansion will lead to the creation of 7 new jobs in Fintown

Speaking at the opening of the new facility, Dr Joe Mulholland, director of the MacGill Summer School and former Donegal Person of the Year said, “I am delighted to officially open this new business premises today. I commend Charles Bonner and his family for undertaking this expansion when businesses are facing very challenging times. Charles Bonner and Sons already have an established track record in this business and I have no doubt that this new venture will be an important contributor to the local area.”

Pádraig Ó hAoláin, CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta, said that Údarás were delighted that they were in a position to assist the company in its expansion plans. “In the current climate, each and every new job that created is important, especially in small rural towns such as Fintown. This business will also result in a knock on added-value benefit to the local economy.”
