At an Údarás na Gaeltachta Board meeting which was held in Na Forbacha, Co. Galway last Friday (27 February), a support package consisting of capital and training grants was approved for Cuan Tamhnaigh Teo, a company based in Cill Charthaigh, Co. Donegal. Jonathan Hackett, the main director of the weaving company, Botany Weaving Mill Ltd in Dublin is the owner of Cuan Tamhnaigh Teo.
The company produces carpets for aeroplanes and provides a fabric and upholstery finishing service for the aviation industry. As part of the new development, the company is planning to focus on the production of upholstery material for buses and trains as they have located customers in the transport industry through the company Botany Weaving Mill Ltd.
The company currently employs 39 people and is expected to increase to 77 over the next three year period as the new development plan is implemented.
