Up to ten graduates are participating in the program, and while they are starting at the organisation’s headquarters, they will have the opportunity to gain experience in various centers throughout the Gaeltacht during the program. As a central part of the program, participants are undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma (Level 9) in collaboration with Atlantic Technological University. During their two-year period, participants will gain valuable experience in various areas within Údarás na Gaeltachta, including management, working with Gaeltacht companies, and community development.

Speaking about the progress, Tomás Ó Síochán, CEO of Údarás na Gaeltachta, said:

“We are delighted to welcome the first group of participants to the GAIRM program. This is a significant step in our efforts to develop and retain young talent in our Gaeltacht communities. Through GAIRM, we are actively contributing to the future of our Gaeltacht regions and nurturing the next generation of leaders.”

The main objective of this program is to support Údarás na Gaeltachta’s mission to preserve and strengthen Irish as a living language, and to promote the economic, social, and cultural development of the Gaeltacht.

The program is aimed at applicants with fluent Irish and an NFQI Level 8 degree in various fields such as business, technology, accounting, planning, project management, science, social sciences, and communication.
