The Chief Executive of Údarás na Gaeltachta, Pádraig Ó hAoláin and the South Regional Manager, Éamonn Ó Neachtain met with the General Secretary of the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Breandán Ó hEochaidh and with the Deputy Secretary of the Department, Cecil Beamish today to discuss issues relevant to both the Department and Údarás na Gaeltachta.
The provision of broadband in the Gaeltacht, aqua tourism, development and services at Ros a’ Mhíl harbour and in An Daingean, local fishermen’s plight with regard to policy changes predicted for fishing industry, and partnership opportunities between the Department, Bord Iascaigh Mara and an tÚdarás were discussed with respect to employment opportunities and income for fishermen in coastal communities in the Gaeltacht.
