‘Is álainn í an Ghaeltacht’ photo competition

Údarás na Gaeltachta is running a photo competition called ‘Is álainn í an Ghaeltacht’ to promote the Gaeltacht as an ideal place to live, work, do business and as a holiday destination. We are looking for photos that represent Gaeltacht life.

Possible themes for photo entry could be representations of Gaeltacht landscape, community, events / festivals, culture, tradition, heritage and language etc.

Closing date for photo entries is 19 August 2013. The shortlist will then be announced on Facebook around 26 August 2013 and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite entry by ‘Liking’ the photo.

The winners will be decided through a combination of a judging panel and public popularity vote on Facebook. First prize is €500, Second prize is €250 and Third prize is €100. The winner of the competition will be announced on Facebook from 9 – 13 September 2013.

The competition is open to the public but photo entries will not be accepted from professional photographers.
