The Language Planning Officers of An Cheathrú Rua and Ceantar na nOileán have come together to provide an attractive programme in Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin

The Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin caters for students from both planning areas. Activities on the programme include a SPRAOI Club for girls, art projects, Awareness Day and much more. The programme also saw the launch of a school Radio in the School, directed by Máirín Nic Con Iomaire.

The aim of school radio is to give students the opportunity to experience the craft of radio and to encourage them towards programming, creating podcasts in Irish, both inside and outside the school walls. Areas covered by Máirín and other well – known broadcasters from RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will include; News, a magazine show, Sports and MOJO Journalism.
