In October 2009, Johnny Lynch purchased 31 buffaloes from Italy and had the first milking herd of buffalo in Ireland. He and his wife Geraldine now have a herd of over 200 animals on their 150-acre farm based in Cill na Martra in County Cork, where the animals are thriving in the Irish environment.
