Údarás na Gaeltachta is collaborating with five other organisations from Slovakia (Kira – KIRA – Regional Innovation Development Agency and University of Bratislava Comenius University ) the Czech Republic (Newton University NEWTON University – A Business University for Life), Croatia (Edward Bernays University of Applied Science – Veleučilište Bernays), and Finland (Savoina University – Savonia University of Applied Sciences – front page )to establish an online course for people over 50, who wish to start their own business. This will be achieved by providing them with modules that will help them develop their entrepreneurial skills. This course will be made available as part of the EU Project CHANCE, with objectives to create retraining and upskilling streams, including prioritizing digital transformation and providing high-quality, flexible, and recognized education for this cohort of learners.
As part of this project, the modules will be made available in the form of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This means that courses will be available online, with flexible and free access to materials for the learner. These modules will be interactive and based on six topics that will provide entrepreneurial knowledge to the learner. The topics are: Financial Planning and Investment Readiness, Stress Management and Work-Life Balance, Marketing and Communication, Entrepreneurship and Impact Entrepreneurship, Management and Financial Planning, and Legal Issues and Basic Law. A certificate will be made available to those who complete the course.
