At a Board meeting of Údarás na Gaeltachta in Maigh Cuilinn today (30 May), a number of projects were approved which are expected to create over 80 new jobs when fully operational, with a total investment of €3.7million (the companies and An tÚdarás). Further information on these projects will be provided in due course. The Minister of State for the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley T.D. said, “I welcome the news of the various projects approved by the Board of the Údarás today, and I look forward to seeing the results of the investment and employment in the Gaeltacht in due course.”
The Board of Údarás wished the best to Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta 2014 and its organisers, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Mhaigh Cuilinn and said that Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta is the only inter-Gaeltacht competition that celebrates our Irish heritage and language through competitive Gaelic games. The Comórtas Peile gives Gaeltacht communities, often very small communities, the chance and the challenge of organising national qualifier rounds. The Comórtas has made significant developments and has created links with both players and followers in Dublin, Belfast and London.
