At recent meetings of the Bord of Údarás na Gaeltachta and the Údarás Munster Regional Committee, support packages were approved for a number of existing and new businesses in the Múscraí Gaeltacht. It’s anticipated that 70 new jobs will be created and existing jobs maintained.
At a meeting of the Údarás Munster Regional Committee in An Daingean on the 9th of December, support packages were approved for three companies to be established in Béal Átha an Ghaorthaigh. All three businesses will be located in the same unit and will work in the areas of information technology and computer graphics. Thirty new jobs are expected to be created when the companies are up and running.
At an Údarás board meeting on the 12th of December support packages were approved for five food and manufacturing companies in the area to meet their production, development, training and marketing requirements. When the proposed developments are complete, the creation of 30 new jobs is anticipated and the package will assist in maintaining existing jobs.
Grants in excess of €1.8m were approved in total.
At another meeting of the Munster Regional Committee earlier in the quarter, a support package was approved for Oisín Teo which is based in Baile Mhic Íre. The company provides a translation and language consultancy service and 12 full-time jobs are expected to be created in the company in the next three years.
