Cloich Cheann Fhaola is located in north-west Donegal, between an Earagail, an Eachla Mhór and an Mhucais on the southern border, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. This Gaeltacht Language Planning Area (LPT) has a population of 4,042, with 39.6% (3 years of age and older) speaking Irish everyday outside of the education system.

The Lead Organisation that deals with this LPT is Pobal Eascarrach CTR, supported by An tSeanBheairic CTR. and Coiste Paróiste Ghort a’ Choirce. Representatives from these organisations, along with representatives from community-based groups were chosen as members of the steering committee Pleanáil Teanga Chloich Cheann Fhaola (PTCCF).
