North Mayo
Maigh Eo Thuaidh is the largest Gaeltacht Language Planning Area (LPT) in the country as regards acreage, and 7,199 people (or c.7.2% of the population of the Gaeltacht) live there.
According to the 2016 Census, 8.1% of this population over 3 years of age spoke Irish on a daily basis outside of the education system.
