Service Level Agreement

The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Údarás na Gaeltachta have developed a Service Level Agreement between them. As Irish is the working language of Údarás na Gaeltachta, the Service Level Agreement document is in Irish only.

Service Level Agreement summary

Areas of cooperation and coordination between the two organisations are set out in the Service Level Agreement. These take into account the statutory remit of Údarás na Gaeltachta and the role of the Department in funding and overseeing the activities of Údarás na Gaeltachta, as well as the common aims and objectives of both organisations. The Agreement also takes into account statutory requirements and the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies. It covers areas such as strategic planning, directives from the Department, annual reports, general communications and points of contact between the two organisations, the use of the Irish language as provided for in the governing legislation of Údarás na Gaeltachta, common clients, the promotion of joint responsibilities and joint projects, education and training requirements and sharing of resources and information where appropriate, response times and information requirements.
